Our Philosophy

Our goal is to encourage independence while providing whatever help our residents need with activities of daily living. Ability is stressed rather than disability. Medical care is provided as need but it is not the focus of the care setting. A home-like environment promotes individualism, privacy and choice.

We encourage residents to share in daily activities in the home when they express the desire to do so. Helping prepare meals and sharing in other household chores helps our residents feel that they are a valuable part of a community.

Mealtimes are special at Senior Class. Homemade meals that are tasty and nutritious are served family style. It’s a time when we share life’s experiences, read articles from the newspaper and discuss them together. Exercises are often performed after breakfast. It’s a time to socialize and be acknowledged. No isolating oneself here!
